CIRCUS!!

I went to the circus and it was FANTASTIC!! I thought it was the coolest thing in the world!

they had bears doing cool tricks

and you all know how I feel about cool horses

and this was one of the coolest acts there... I don't even know what to call it but they would all walk around the outside of the cage and stuff, it was totally legit!

to sum it all up I felt like I was in the greatest show on Earth and thought of Charlton Heston all night. :D

Getting Stared at Experience Number 2

Sooooooo the school that I am at is part of a huge program of schools called Bond and every half year or so Bond wants to show their foreign teachers their wonderful city. What happens is they give all of their teachers bright neon orange jackets and put them on bright neon green bikes and take them on a tour of the city. They had professional photographers and everything. And while we were riding the photographers would head us off and take pictures of us riding past... they would even hide in the bushes... seriously. I haven't been on a bike since elementary school and now I was on an hour long bike ride on a bike that was too short for me, it got harder and harder to smile at the cameras. I'm just kidding it really wasn't that bad, it was actually quite fun :)

after the bike ride we went to a really fancy hotel where they fed us lunch (I ate chicken feet) and they made all the foreign teachers preform for a cash prize :D

our group did a song and dance number dressed up as animals.

we won 600 yuen :D

Kaiyin School

Hey everybody i've been in china for about 2 weeks now. It is such a great experience and so cool! Although I am starting to get a bit homesick (to be expected) so if you have any free minutes write me a little not or something and you will make my day :D

So I have arrived in Kaiyin and am at my school now, the second day we were here was the lantern festival so our coordinators, Becky, Gloria, and Marine, took us to a parade. Although more people were watching us then the parade, experience number 1 of being stared at, YAY!

I didn't really have a very good view although I did like this picture
I stood next to this really cute little girl and her mom, the little girl was smiling and cooing at me all through the parade so I took a picture.

after the parade they took us to get a traditional lantern festival food call kan yuen.
in english: sweet milk
that was a really fun experience. apparently in some parts of china on the lantern festival the let lanterns fly tangled style, I really really really really really really wanted to do that but apparently it is illegal in our city... so I made myself a lantern and threw it off my balcony... that will have to do. :)

Hi Y'all From Hong Kong!

Hi everyone
I'm in Hong Kong :D
yesterday I thought I would never make it, I had nearly a 24 hour flight and if I ever get on a plane again for the next 5 months it will be too soon.
Hong Kong is really cool, they have tons of little market places all around, our hotel is right in the middle of a really big one, so I have spent almost half the day just wondering around, I've gotten lost at least four or five times.
Earlier today they took us on a tour of Hong Kong, first we went to a place called Repulse Bay where they have a floating community, they took us on a boat ride tour of that.

there was this really famous restaurant called Jumbo Floating Restaurant.

then whe went to the Stanley Market, where were hundreds of tiny little shops, and I bartered :) yup be jealous.
it's a bit blurry cause there were tons of people all pushing
the last thing on our tour was Victoria Peak where there were some beautiful picture places, although it was kinda foggy

that was a dragon thing... I really liked it :)
later on tonight I am going to the night market and going to see the Hong Kong temple, i'm way excited :)
well good bye till my next post.
